The D-IAS Family is expanding and has just got a new member: Bryan Yazell is our new D-IAS Assistant Professor at Department for the Study of Culture.
Only highly qualified and excellent researchers in their field is recruited and affiliated by D-IAS.
Bryan Yazell received his PhD in English from the University of California, Davis in 2016. Since 2017, he has been a postdoctoral researcher with the “Uses of Literature” during his Niels Bohr Professorship Program at the University of Southern Denmark. His research focuses on the various ways literary sources inform popular understandings of migration and welfare politics from the late-nineteenth century into the present. Examples of this scholarship appear in Modern Fiction Studies and the Journal of Transnational American Studies.
His recent work attends to the subject of migration in speculative fiction and appears in Studies in the Fantastic and The Routledge Companion to Transnational American Studies.
